Feline cardiomyopathy seems to be one of those areas of veterinary medicine where there has been considerable ambiguity and disagreement, even amongst cardiologists. Recently the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) published a consensus statement regarding classification, diagnosis and treatment. This article reviews recent information on feline cardiomyopathy, focusing on the practical implications for general practitioners.
